Fall of 2012 me, Brian Cormack, and John Blakney all took a quick trip out to the swamps of Arkansas. Specifically, the Dagmar Wildlife Management Area. This photo was captured at Hickson Lake, which lies at the end of the road into the WMA.
When we were there the roads were absolutely lined with trucks. Hunter’s vehicles who were deep in the “deer woods” of Arkansas, trying to bag their next claim.
I would honestly feel a little uneasy being in such a small area with so many hunters. We all know what happens when too many hunters are in the same place (ex: Dick Cheney), ahem!
Anyways, this is just a shot of some of the fallen Cypress Needles that were lying everywhere in the swamp. The cypress trees are absolutely beautiful there. I didn’t get the shot I was looking for this particular trip, so I’ll have to return sometime again. That’s ok though, it really is a neat area that is a lot different than the Ozarks and Ouachitas that I am used to exploring.
